I finished my degree last semester which allows me to focus on training.
What foods are you eating to maximize gains and minimize recovery?
My training facility, EXOS center, has it's own nutritionist and chef. That makes it easy for me because I order food there thats made to help me reach my nutritional and physical goals over the next 10 weeks.
How do you feel the week went?
I feel that this week went very well. I was able to get in for some evaluations on Wednesday and then started in earnest on Thursday. For the next 10 weeks I'll be working out six (6) days a week with two (2) workouts a day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays and Sundays will require only one (1) workout from me because those are "regen" (short for regeneration) days. Those days are also designed to be shorter to keep me active and work out the soreness that accumulates throughout the week.
Although this first week constituted as a half-week of workouts it was good to start the cycle. I know I'm going to be in for a grind but I am more than ready for it because anything that's worthwhile takes hard work. I'm excited to get after it during this phase. I just have to take care of the process day-by-day and the outcome will take care of itself!
What are you doing in your limited free time?
I'm currently reading "In Pursuit of Excellence" by Terry Orlick to help keep me on top of my mental game. For anybody looking for an edge in any performance based profession, sports, work, etc., i think this is a great book to say the least. Check it out.
